    How Much Botox Is Excessive?
Botox treatment is a wonderful drug that can really help people to look more youthful. But it's important to have an honest conversation along with your patient to make sure that their expectations and your treatment ambitions are in line. Quite often I will come across clients who think their prior experience with Botox treatment was too heavy handed, leaving them with a fixed, frozen and entirely unnatural expression, or often a droopy brow which interferes with their vision.

I'll tell my patients that I prefer to give Botox in a dose designed to ease their lines and wrinkles but simultaneously preserve a degree of facial expression. What this means is a more youthful look but maintains the natural stability and harmony of the face. Although some patients do want the 'frozen' forehead look, they are in the minority and the majority would rather avoid this.

Picking out the proper dose for a certain individual is not as clear-cut as your Botox course trainer might have you think. Although some of the Botulinum Toxin producers do provide dosage suggestions, these need to be employed as a guide instead of a one-size fits all solution. In case you go down this road you will see that your clients will search for a more customised service elsewhere.

So how do you determine the appropriate dose? It will require a deep comprehension of the anatomy and function of the facial anatomy, and an understanding that everyone is different. So when I see a new customer who is contemplating about Botox treatment I will carefully consider that person's facial musculature. I'll evaluate the strength of their musculature by examining their muscle bulk. I will determine the anatomy of their muscles, and this can be different from the description in books. I'll establish the impact of relaxing those muscles, especially the frontalis and orbicularis oculi muscles.

In contemplating the effect I am contemplating not only about the appearances but also what is going to happen to the visual function of my patient when their brow is relaxed. They aren't going to be best pleased in the event you paralyze their brow muscles which they are using to keep their hefty upper eyelids raised and out of the field of their vision

Various elements of Botox treatment are also more complicated to get right than others. In this context I am thinking particularly about Botox treatment for fine lines about the lip area. In this area you have to be particularly respectful of the strength of Botox injections and tread very carefully as overdosage can result in lip incontinence that can last several months.
